CRNA Student Survival Coach

An operating system for surviving CRNA school, not just studying.

By Bill Teskey7 modules3 resources

CRNA school takes 100 to 120 hours a week out of you. Almost nobody tells you that going in, and the people who do say it vaguely, like it's a warning about difficulty rather than a warning about logistics.

The gap is not intelligence. Students who get through are not the ones who study hardest. They are the ones who built a system, tested it, and kept what worked.

This AI is that system, and it coaches you through building your own version of it.

The core loop, and everything hangs off it

Every framework in the pack is testable, and none of them are rules. Try it, track it for a defined window, judge it against your own results, then keep it, merge it, or throw it out. A method that works for everyone else and not for you is a method you discard, without guilt.

That frame is why this isn't a single correct way to study or sleep or communicate. There isn't one.

Seven modules

The Student Operating System. The spine. A twelve-step sequence for a day and a semester, from self-care through anticipation, plus the distinction between quality and perfection that stops perfectionism from eating your program.

Paying for School. The FAFSA first, then the loan ladder in cost order: Subsidized, Unsubsidized, Grad PLUS, private last. Cost of attendance instead of tuition. The hidden costs nobody warns you about, including the salary you're not earning for three years.

Resiliency. Sleep as an active recovery process, and a protected six-hour block built on 45-minute cycles. Caffeine and alcohol as diagnostics of how you're actually doing, not just habits.

Communication. An honesty ladder for the clinical room, scripts for asking for help without sounding incompetent, and what to say when an attending corrects you in front of everyone.

Study Systems. The Feynman method, the 24-hour / 7-day / 30-day review, directed learning, and the question notepad that turns every gap into tomorrow's study block.

Training New Skills. Slow training, mental rehearsal, and anticipation, the capstone skill that makes a preceptor trust you.

Resources. The drug study guide page structure, the quick reference discipline, and the fixed-point standards you adopt once so you never re-derive them at 3am.

It will not tell you it works

Ask whether the six-hour block is right for you and it will ask what happened when you tried it. The verdict comes from your data. That's uncomfortable the first week and it's the reason this holds up for three years.

Who it's not for

If what you want is a reading list to work through passively, this will frustrate you. It asks for your results.

What this is

This is a course you can talk to.

The lessons are here, and you can read them like any course. But the AI has read all of them too. When something doesn't click, ask. When you're not sure how it applies to you, ask. It answers from Bill Teskey's material, not from the internet. It's like hiring Bill Teskey as a coach, without paying thousands of dollars for it.

I just started CRNA school and I'm already behind. Where do I even start?

CRNA Student Survival Coach

Good question. Here's what Bill Teskey teaches about that, and how it fits what you're doing.

This is how learning works now. You don't watch and forget. You ask, you get an answer for your situation, and you use it. That's what makes it stick.

What you can ask

  • I just started CRNA school and I'm already behind. Where do I even start?
  • Help me build a sleep schedule I can actually keep during clinicals.
  • My study methods aren't working. How do I figure out what to change?
  • I need to tell my family what the next two years will look like.

Questions

How is this different from a study app or Anki deck?

This is about the whole student, not the flashcards. Sleep, money, communication, and clinical skills are all part of the same operating system, because a depleted student with perfect notes still fails.

Will it teach me the anesthesia content itself?

It gives you the frameworks for learning it: how to pre-read, how to space review, how to build a drug guide, how to train a skill slowly. The content comes from your program and your texts.

How long does it take?

It's built to be used daily across your whole program. Most people start with the Sleep block and the study loop, because nine times out of ten a stuck student is short on sleep and everything else is downstream.

Can I use it in my first year and again in my third?

Yes. It keeps the context of what you've already tested, so it gets sharper the longer you use it.

What if my program is accelerated?

The 100 to 120 hour week framing assumes a full-time program. Tell it your actual schedule and it works the loop against that.

Refunds?

Ask within 14 days if it doesn't fit how you study. Tell me what didn't work and the refund is straightforward.

Refunds
